Join Our Afterschool Program

The Afterschool Program provides developmentally appropriate activities that will enhance your child’s confidence, enrich his or her social and physical development, and encourage self-expression.

We offer a combination of individual and group activities. Children are encouraged to give their input on what activities they would like to do.

A weekly lesson plan and schedule of activities are posted at each site.

Arts and crafts, Go Green activities, games, homework time, snack, wellness components, nutrition, and outside time are some of the daily activities that will be available to your child.

INFORMATION FOR 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR

Thank you for choosing the Y! We are excited about the opportunity to be a part of your child's and your family's lives this school year. It is our aim to run a high-quality program that is not only safe, but provides opportunities for children to have fun, be active, enhance education, explore new interests, and build relationships.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

At the Y, we think fun, new friends, positive role models and great times should be available to every child. That’s why we provide scholarships to families who need help making School Care programming a reality. The Y-YMCA financial assistance program provides funds based on available resources. Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are available at the link below and by calling 828-324-9622.

Applicants must first apply for the subsidy/voucher program through the Burke County Child Care Services Subsidy Unit, if applicable. Funds are made possible through generous donations to our Annual Giving Campaign. You can help provide School Care programming for families by visiting our website and making a tax-deductible online gift or by submitting a donation at a YMCA near you.
