Empowering Those Impacted by Cancer to Rebuild Strength and Community

The YMCA of Catawba Valley is proud to announce the return of LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a nationally recognized, evidence-based program designed specifically for adults who are currently living with or beyond cancer treatment. Beginning this January, a new session will launch at the Lincoln County Family YMCA, offering a safe, supportive environment for participants to reconnect with their bodies, gain confidence, and rebuild strength—physically and emotionally.

Offered at no cost to participants by certified instructors, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA supports whole-person wellness. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA has been proven to help survivors MEET OR EXCEED the recommended amount of physical activity, SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE their cardiovascular endurance and IMPROVE their overall quality of life and DECREASE their cancer-related fatigue.

Maria, who participated in a LIVESTRONG class this year said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the program as it has connected me with a small community of cancer survivors who truly understand the cancer journey along with an amazing team of YMCA trainers who have empowered me both physically and spiritually. My journey has been one of healing, renewed faith and starting to feel like myself again."
