When you come into the Y, I’m sure you see people out on the fitness floor in a red Y shirt. Those people serve as a wellness coach. Each coach is trained to to work with individuals and groups. They understand wellness and how to help you begin you wellness journey. A coach is great way to make sure you get off on the right foot.
Another way to make sure you get off to good start in your wellness journey is to sign up for coaching connection. Coaching connection allows you to be with a wellness coach once a week for 6 weeks. During those 6 weeks you will receive a new workout each week. The goal is that you are exposed to 6 different kinds of workouts over the 6 weeks so that when it is completed you can find a a few workouts that work for you. Not everyone is made to do every kind of exercise. You have to find what works for you.
A wellness coach can also answer general questions for you. Maybe you are not sure what muscles a particular machine works or you aren’t sure how to use a piece of equipment. The coach is always here to help. All you have to do is ask for help. The coach can even help spot you if you are doing free weights. Keep in mind that coaches are here for you and are willing to help in any way possible. It is why they are here.
The coaches are now able to record your wellness goals. If you are looking to achieve a certain goal be sure to let a coach know. That way we can follow up on your goal later. Your goal could be to lose weight, run a 5k, or even just be consistent with coming to the Y. Coaches are on the floor to help you reach your goals. Never hesitate to ask one a question.
