The Combo: Health and Nutrition

Some people seem to think that if they workout they can eat whatever they want.  I’m sure you have heard people say I can eat this since I worked out today.  If only it was that simple.  The reality is that health and nutrition go hand in hand.  It is hard to have one without the other.  You can workout all you want but without nutrition you will always struggle to be healthy.

Health and nutrition is all about what you are putting into your body.  The goal is eat healthy and find foods that are good for you and taste good.  Your body’s fuel is whatever you put into it.  The higher octane the fuel the better your body will perform.  It also works the other way.  If you are putting in things that as good for you your body will not perform at the optimum level for you.

The goal is to find foods that taste good that are still good for you.  There a couple ways you can do this.  One is to try all kinds of different fruits and vegetables.  Start with an open mind and just eat all kinds and find out what you like or do not like.  Try to find out what is in season and what is not so you can have a variety based on the season.  Another way is to try to have a colorful plate.  When you try to have a rainbow of food on your plate.  The more colors on your plate the better.  Each food has different nutrients and because having all kinds of food on your plate you will have a balance of all of them.

Health and nutrition are partners in this.  In order to have good health you have good nutrition.  The idea that you can eat whatever you want because you workout just is not true.  You will constantly be dealing with an uphill battle.  Start today and make nutrition a part of your healthy life and see how much better you feel.
