Here at the YMCA we strive to support our members through all of their life journey’s – growing up, starting a family, working through health issues and injuries, and many more. However, as a community leader we also find it important to look outside of our YMCA family to offer support to those around us.
As we celebrate this new year we recognize how much there is to be excited for – new beginnings, fresh starts, newfound motivation, life changes, and new babies! In the first few days of January Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Hospital welcomed their first 2019 babies at their respective hospitals. In celebration and support of these two families we presented them with a complimentary year membership to our Catawba Valley YMCA’s.
Fortunately, we were able to meet the Odom Parent’s and their beautiful new baby, Hadley Paige. Hadley is Kirk and Ashley’s fourth child. We presented them a certificate for their YMCA membership and spent some time with them talking about how our YMCA’s could serve their family of six! Mom, Ashley, was most excited to hear about our diverse youth sports programs and Childwatch centers at both of our locations. She is eager to try out Childwatch, that will give her some ‘me time’ at the YMCA while knowing her kids will be playing in a safe space nearby.
At the YMCA we recognize the importance of providing the space and programs to foster wellness and growth among families in their many life stages. Whether a family is welcoming their first child or adding a fourth to the bunch, like the Odom’s, the YMCA works to ensure all families are served and supported. We are so excited to welcome these two new families into our YMCA family this year, as well as many others in our community.
