Halloween at the Y

What comes to mind when you think about Halloween?  Is it trick or treating, being scared, pumpkins, or something else?  Hopefully for many of you the Y comes to mind.  Annually the Y holds their Halloween at the Y party at each branch.  This year Halloween at the Y at the Shuford Y will be on Friday October 30th from 6pm to 8pm.  The staff is excited to be dressed up and to see families enjoying a night together.

Halloween at the Y continues to grow each year.  Every year we want to make it bigger and better than the last.  New this year we will be having a haunted pool.  This trip in a canoe is sure to scare you but do not worry if you can’t swim.  We promise not to flip the canoe.  The haunted pool is for all ages.  We have also added a hay ride.  You will get your chance to have the tractor pull you around while sitting in the hay.  This year we added a designated space for younger children.  If you have small children then come on by and see some of the not as scary things and get them into the Halloween spirit.  One last thing that was added, is the cake walk.  This year will be our first cake walk.  The cakes are to be delicious and we hope you will stop by and take part in our cake walk.

The best part about Halloween at the Y is that it helps the community as well.  As opposed to charging to get in we charge one canned good per person to enjoy the night.  There will be food for sale as well.  These cans will then be donated to the local soup kitchen so people can enjoy them.  Our goal with this event is to have 200 cans.  Please help us reach our goal and stop by with your entire family.  The more people the better.  We want every family in area to come by and see what scary things we have here at the Y.  We look forward to seeing everyone on October 30th from 6pm to 8pm.
