At the YMCA we turn no one away due to their inability to pay full price. We understand that sometimes life just happens, it throws things at you that you couldn’t possibly see coming. Your circumstances won’t be any easier to handle if you don’t feel strong enough to handle them and a successful fitness regiment is part of that strength building process.
Where do we get the funds to offer financial assistance for fitness programs? We raise them through our Annual Campaign program. Each year we go into the community, our membership, search for grant opportunities and raise the money that we will use to subsidize our ability to help those in need. 100% of the money we raise goes back into the community assuring that every person that wants or needs the services of the YMCA of Catawba Valley has that opportunity.
The process is simple. Ask the front desk associate at your local branch for a “Spirit Program” application, supply all the proof of income that applies to you and a letter stating the reason for your request. The amount that is rewarded differs from case to case based on the individuals situation. It takes 1 to 2 business days to process depending on the day the application is turned in. You will receive a letter informing you of your discounted amount. It’s really that simple.
