Gifts of Stock

The YMCA of Catawba Valley accepts gifts of appreciated securities as payment of any form of charitable gift. These gifts may be beneficial to income tax savings and capital gains tax.

Contributions of stock may be made to the YMCA of Catawba Valley by one of the following methods. The first method is the quickest and most secure.

You may transfer stock from your broker through the Depository Trust Company (DTC). The transfer should be made to:

To receive proper credit for your gift, please fax notification of the transfer to the YMCA of Catawba Valley, Attention: Angela Chapman at 828.624.1184.

If you have the actual stock certificate in your name and wish to donate it to the YMCA of Catawba Valley, the following is needed:

A stock power signed by you (or your signature on the back of the certificate transferring the stock to the YMCA of Catawba Valley.

A letter of authorization from you, signed exactly as your name appears on the certificate which gives the number of shares contributed, the names of the security (i.e. Company) and the certificate number.

The signed certificates should be sent registered mail to:

3. If you have registered the securities in the name of the YMCA of Catawba Valley the certificate should be delivered to the YMCA of Catawba Valley to the attention Angela Chapman.
